Tern GSD
Our newest GSD rail is 100% bolt together (no welds), making it easy to arrange in a variety of orientations to suit your needs. It is compatible with all versions of the GSD, 1st and 2nd generation.
The stock perimeter rail is long enough to span the entire rear rack plus a Yepp seat in the rear position. It can be reversed, cut shorter symmetrically or asymmetrically, and the legs rearranged on the six mounting points to achieve a wide variety of setups. We show a few example photos here, but there are many more possibilities. Use your imagination!
The perimeter can easily be cut with a hacksaw. We recommend using a hand file to smooth the cut edge, and reinstall the plastic plug afterwards for safety. Regardless of arrangement, the rail should always be supported by at least 3 legs to maintain strength and stability.
Photos show test fitting of a prototype bare aluminum rail on a GSD, but our production rails are anodized black for durability and a sleek finished appearance.
